I have dense clay and have to keep it amended and watered throughout the Summer in arid NE Oregon to grow anything. Previously I used pumice in my potting soil only but I am trying to get it into more areas of my garden soil to see if it will help to keep the soil permeable, at least. I do think it helps along with compost. I love that it is a natural product and it hangs around a long while. Concentrates is the only place in Oregon I can find it. It also helps with drainage in the poor potting soil we can acquire locally.

Medium size pumice is great for drainage with my coir/compost/castings soil mix. It lasts for years in the mix making it durable for reusing.
