Description

COCONUT COIR is a natural fiber made out of coconut husks, and is a renewable resource alternative to peat moss. The extraction of the coconut fiber husks results in a by-product called coco pith or coco coir. Coconut Coir is a 100% natural growing medium and is triple soaked by monsoon rains for 18 months while on the ground and dried in the sun to Ultra Super Wash™ the coconut fiber to ensure salt content is below 0.3-0.5mS/m and a pH of 6.0-6.5.

This makes an excellent growing medium for hydroponics or container plant growing. The red color of the coconut pith block hints at product maturity.

Directions for use in the garden and landscape: Gently add water and crumble into soil. Ratio of Coconut Coir to soil is dependent upon amount of water retention desired. Dry break-up method for best results require a chipper shredder. For wet expansion method, soak in 8 gallons of water to soften.

Great price and great product for mushroom cultivation. I just wish they carried a few more grain options as I would buy that here too if there were oats or rye available

Hey Matthew, Come on down to the showroom and check out the feed and cover crop sections, we have a couple options for wheat or cereal rye, as well as a bunch of other things mushrooms find delicious!
