The extraction of the coconut fiber husks results in a by-product called coco pith or coco coir. Coconut Coir is a 100% natural growing medium and is triple soaked by monsoon rains for 18 months while on the ground and dried in the sun to reduce salt content.<\/p>\n<p>This makes an excellent growing medium for hydroponics or container plant growing. The red color of the coconut pith block hints at product maturity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions for use in the garden and landscape:<\/strong>\u00a0Gently add water and crumble into soil. Ratio of Coconut Coir to soil is dependent upon amount of water retention desired. Dry break-up method for best results require a chipper shredder.
